Sony overtakes Apple in smartphones in Japan market

The giant of Cupertino has widely been overtaken by Sony in Japan, since the Japanese company has set up business plans which have proven to be a success.
Sony has bet strong by a sales strategy based on a discount program that has carried out together with the operator NTT DoCoMo, reported in Bloomberg.



In the last four weeks Sony has increased the levels of commercialization of their devices and it reached 36 percent of smartphones sold in the last four weeks, while that Apple had to settle with adding 25 per cent, according to data from the firm BCN Inc.
DoCoMo is the leader in Japan and it has more than 60 million subscribers in a nation of more than 125 million rooms and is the only telephone company in the country that does not sell the iPhone.
Currently, DoCoMo has opted for promoting smartphones in the series Sony Xperia, a strategy that will be beneficial for both companies.
In the case of Sony, the company foresees that for this fiscal year it scored a profit of 100 billion yen, amount equivalent to $ 1 billion, which contrasts with the 130 billion yen it lost last year.
For Samsung the picture in Japan It is not as positive as in other markets and it controlled only 13 per cent of sales last month, but allows you to continue above Sharp, brand Japanese that passes of 10.3 percent from the previous period of study to add only 7.9 percent.
