Eddy Cue has admitted that it raised the possibility of negotiating a division of the entertainment market with Amazon.
Eddy Cue, senior Vice President of software and internet at Apple, has been called to testify in the case facing Apple and US authorities on the possible agreement that the Cupertino promoted with the leading publishing house for damage to Amazon.
Cue, according to Bloomberg, has alleged that he knew nothing about the mails and calls between the CEOs of the publishers which took place between 2009 and 2010 to agree on prices. All publishers involved in the trial have reached settlements.
The Veteran Executive of Apple was then head of the launch of the service of iBooks that was launched by the hand of the release of the iPad.
The U.S. Government believes that Cue led the agreement with the main players of the publishing industry, which urged the price of textbooks to press the low cost of Amazon strategy. US exposes that the Pact finally affect consumers.
Apple didn't change the ebook market, simply, he has defended Cue, was looking for a legitimate agreement. But the giants of the book were not happy with Amazon pricing model. "[The publishers] told us that they wanted higher prices", according to Cnet.
The now head of the software division in Cupertino and one of the visible faces on the Apple press appearances, has admitted that it was to negotiate with Amazon intended to divide up the market: Apple would control the music and Amazon Books.
