Microsoft will not lose presence on the computers of the administration of the city of Berlin despite attempts by some politicians to bet on Linux.
The Green Party had proposed in the State Parliament in Berlin that the city would undertake a migration of 25% of the teams work with all servers to Linux.
The environmental politicians plan was revised by a Commission and finally rejected after receiving the votes against the coalition of SPD and the CDU, matches that currently govern in the German capital.
Among its reasons for rejecting the proposal, the CDU said that it was clearly based on prejudice in favor of the software open source against proprietary solutions.
In Exchange for his refusal, the parties in power in Berlin wanted to compensate the supporters of the open source go-ahead to a request that promotes the adoption of more open standards.
From the Green Party have long been working to ensure the adoption of the open source software in public bodies, and a similar proposal to the one just discussed also was rejected in the past.
