A second airline for Larry Ellison?

The objective of the management of Oracle seems to be becoming a magnate of the tourist market, where it began its investments in June 2012.

Larry Ellison, CEO of Oracle, increased his fortune. Last March in the ranking of the magazine Forbes, Ellison, of 68 years, appeared as the fifth richest man of the world and the third richest American, with a net worth of 43,000 million dollars.

On the other hand, another report has revealed that in 2012 the Executive was the highest-paid us.UU. with an income of $ 94.6 million.

Now the billionaire CEO of Oracle seems to be interested in the acquisition of a second airline in Hawaii after having acquired in February Island Aircompany, which has seven aircraft and offers direct flights to the island of Lanai from Honolulu.

Ellison in Hawaii tourism investments , aiming to become a tycoon of this market, began in June 2012.

On that date Ellison bought 98% of the island of Lanai, the sixth largest Hawaiian with an area of 365 km2, billionaire David Murdock. Then the Executive declared that his intention was to convert the island into a "laboratory" for the green life.

Their plans seem to complete now with a new purchase, the company Phoenix Mesa Air Group, parent company of inter-island airline in Hawaii, and become the second airline in the archipelago, according to Reuters.

The airline has 40 flights a day through a fleet of five CRJ-200 jets.

"We are committed to the construction of a regional airline strong and for this process we are studying all options, including conversations with Mesa Air," it said in a statement Paul Casey, CEO of Island Air.
